Organizational Skills Training (OST) for children

Organizational Skills Training (OST) is a program developed over two decades by Howard B. Abikoff, PhD, and Richard Gallagher, PhD. at NYU. OST uses behavioral skills training procedures to improve children’s organizational skills. Four key skills are taught: tracking assignments, managing materials, time management, and task planning.

OST significantly improves behavioral and academic performance. Findings from a clinical trial indicate that OST increases in-school productivity, reduces homework problems, and improves relationships with family and friends among children with ADHD.

OST is a personalized, one-on-one training lasting 12 weeks where your child will meet with Dr. Mejia to work on skill building.

Flexible to meet your child's needs

    Two options are available:

    - OST: Intensive training twice weekly, following formal OST procedures. This is the ideal modality.

    - Hybrid: video guides and once-a-week meetings with Dr. Mejia for families with busier schedules who can’t commit to two hourly sessions per week

  • A classroom with students sitting at desks, facing a teacher standing in front of a whiteboard.

    Hands on learning

OST sessions are held during the school year to work with your child’s challenges in real time. We use your child’s current academic calendar and assignments to teach them how to be organized.
